Came up from the Bay Area for a little autumn colors and country ambiance. Stumbled upon this little out of the way spot and boy are we glad we did. Amazing selection of good food, huge plates, great beers and friendly efficient service. Seems to me that this is the place where the locals who know stuff come. When in this area NORTHRIDGE is not to missed.
Fabulous place! Food and service was great! The ambiance is an older rustic style cabin/house turned into a restaurant. Loved it and would definitely go back!
Pizza is excellent! We had the bbq chicken & Gouda, and the veggie. Both were so delicious. Highly recommend!
Nice gem of a place. Pizza was perfect . I got the garlic chicken pizza and it was everything I wanted and more. We had just got done spending the afternoon at the Emerald pools and needed replenishments. My wife got the chicken Alfredo and that was equally awesome. The bread and crust was unmatched. Had a beer, they have local brews as well. The vibe is authentic and will give you all the feels of the town. Service was amazing. Stop by. You won't be disappointed! I plan to come back here again.
Four of us visited Northridge of Nevada City for dinner and beer after an all-day whitewater kayaking trip. The place was packed but by 8:00 the crowds moved out and we had a more quiet ambiance. (Of course, that is near closing time.) In a quaint neighborhood of Nevada City the restaurant is in a lovely wooden building with a bar at the entrance, a terrace, and a dining room. One can eat in all three. We ate in the dining room. People were friendly, staff were friendly, the pizza was outstanding, and there was an especially pleasant surprise for this professional musicians. It being someone's birthday, three waitresses came in with cake and sang an ALTERNATIVE to Happy Birthday that had attitude, different tune and different lyrics. Very sassy. And best of all? Their singing was in perfect tune! Can the reader understand how rare it is to hear happy birthday sung even partially in tune in North America? It is regularly slaughtered and butchered by unmusical people. I would have my birthday here now that I've experienced that. Best wishes to the staff. The pizza I ordered was the large "Popeye," a Specialty Pizza. I had them add artichoke and mushrooms in addition to the spinach because there weren't enough vegetables (I'm obsessed with vegetables.) Based in a white sauce with pine nuts, this pizza was perfection. I'll try something else next time but pizza is hard to beat. I hope you have a similar experience when you visit.
I loved the vibe of this place, the atmosphere, the food, and the service. It's obviously a local hangout, and one caught in time where one hopes nothing will ever change. It's quite rustic, quirky, and delightful in its charming, laid-back sort of qualities. You have to go and experience it to truly know what I mean. The menu is enormous, salads, appetizers, sandwiches, seafood, pizza, pasta, and burgers. Everything! The type of place to go with a group of finicky eaters. I chose the Bottlecap Burger with fried jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, onion, pepper taco cheese, and jalapeño ranch dressing. The meat is a 1/3 lb. patty, and the entire thing is huge, almost impossible to get your mouth around it. But, unlike many burgers, this one has a good substantial bun, and the entire assembly really stays together, as opposed to squishing into messy pieces. I got it with a side option of seasoned fries that were average sized and quite good. They were prepared well. With ketchup, I was in cardiac clogging heaven and not complaining! It was a very filling meal. I also got a root beer. Don't miss it, it's truly good. The waitperson was incredible, so friendly and personable, and totally on top of the service. The meal came put quickly, and frankly, I will go back.
This has got to be one of the best places for pizza, I have had several different ones but my fav is the spicy Hawaiian. The ladies are always friendly and it doesn't take long to get the food. The bar area can be a bit loud when there are some cray cray football fans. I love this root beer since it has honey in it
Best pizza around! The Popeye is our favorite - yummy pine nuts! The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is warm and comfortable. Casual and yummy Mountain dining!
This place is a hidden gem that we heard about from a local. I'm not sure we would have found it otherwise. We ordered the fish and chips per our server's recommendation and it was excellent. I would order this dish again. I really enjoyed the crust on the pizza but think I would try a different variety next time.
I have been going here for years when I lived in Nevada City. This is located off of Nevada Street in a residential neighborhood. This is a great place to bring your friends or kiddos. They have indoor and outdoor seating. There is parking out front. The go to here is their pizzas. I have never had a bad pizza here! I usually share a pepperoni pizza. Crust is always done perfectly! Their fish and chips are also delicious. Accompany it with beer on tap or a bottled beer. Wine available too. This is a very casual place...people are friendly here and many locals eat at the bar. Staff is fast and efficient. They do get really busy especially on the weekends but they have plenty of seating Also try their generous salads. They also have quite a bit of fried appetizers as well. You can dine in or take out. Definitely have always had a relaxing and fun time here! Ps. Forgot my phone to take pics!
